So many of us are dealing with storms, problems and adversity right now, some of which we’d like to never have occurred in the first place. Whether the issue is with our health, or family relationships, or workplace shenanigans, or even within ourselves, we have the capacity in Christ to say “Peace be still” and expect peace.
Scripture tells us to be joyful in trials (James 1:2-8) and in the midst of a trial, joy is often the hardest thing to grasp. However, it is in the process of adversity where we begin to see our next level in Christ. And because we are in Christ, we have access to peace and joy. Graham Cooke says it is because of our problems that we get upgraded. What a way to joyfully look at a situation! When we see our situations in the light of Papa’s presence, we also see who we are becoming and the route to the next level. It is also easier to trust Papa for a good resolution to our problem, and we will discover what the circumstance meant.
When viewing our unsavory and highly undesirable circumstances through Papa’s lens, it truly is better to view it as an upgrade. This ultimately decreases the length of time we spend with our problem and increases our understanding of who Papa wants to be for us at that time. I don’t know about you, but I’m totally ready for an upgrade!
I’ve had the words “pace car” in my head for a while now. Mostly when driving to and from work and usually when there is a car ahead in my lane going less than the posted speed limit on a relatively “good” weather day. This morning was no exception and as I began to switch lanes to go around the slow moving car, the unseen driver also decided to change lanes as I began to pass the car. All is good and no collision occurred, but I began to tune into what I felt Papa had to say about it.
I heard Him whisper “My people think they are not moving fast enough in getting to their next level, but I AM setting the pace. I have set before some a path for which I desire time to travel; I want them to experience every bump, every roadblock and all the scenery along the way. This is not a set up for failure, but designed to strengthen and prepare them for their future. Before they can accelerate ahead, they must be able to handle the adversity of the journey. Others are attempting to move too fast and unless they allow Me to slow them down, they will careen out of control and crash. This pace car is set before them for safety, not a hindrance.
There are others who have set a pace car before themselves out of fear of the future. The enemy desires for them to stay stagnant and fearful of the journey, convincing them they are not worthy of the future I have planned for them. I AM removing this pace car, and will accelerate advancement. They are more than prepared for this upgraded level and have begun to drive out the fear that holds them back with My perfect love.”
Papa has only good for us. Do you see yourself with any of the pace cars? I have decided that I am willing to go wherever He takes me at the precise speed I need to be going. Although, I still am not a fan of snails pace cars on the expressway. 😉
Have an amazing and blessed day!
If perfect love drives out fear and it is Papa’s kindness and goodness that draws people to repentance, they why are some tactics so heavily fear based? When people come to Papa through fear, that is the lens they will see Him through and serve with which inevitably results in a lack of transformation making it easy to walk away from Him. After all, who wants to live in a constant state of fear? When people come drawn with love and touched by His kindness and goodness, the lens they view Papa with is much clearer. This makes it easy to partner with Him because it is a right view of His nature and character, allowing a deeper and lasting relationship.
Love is the key. Love covers, love conquers and love never fails.
As we continue on this intercessory journey, I wanted to remind us to stay objective. God’s ways are not our ways, nor are His thoughts like our thoughts. We can only see what is on the outside, but He knows the thoughts and intents of the heart, He also has a purpose and a plan for all things. We will speak blessing and we will not curse, nor will we allow other to curse around us. Shut those words down and do not come into agreement.
We are in an election year and with still so many candidates running for President this year, the mudslinging has become worse than years past. To be honest, I am worn out from all the finger pointing and nay-saying, I am fed up with hearing what people won’t do and I’m tired of political rhetoric driven by campaign funders. I tell this to Papa too, He still says to bless and pray in His candidate. I do what I’m told.
As I’ve been praying, I’ve been impressed to maintain objectivity in all the goings on across our nation. Papa is full of surprises and I have no doubt His plans will surprise us to the point where we simply have to trust in His purpose. So I encourage you to do the same.
This is definitely going to be a wild ride, but Papa makes all things work for our good. He seats princes on the throne and removes kings from kingdoms, we must remember His hand is working behind the scenes. Our posture of prayer is to be in agreement with heaven, so we must keep our ears open to hear what He has been saying.
Be blessed and continue blessing! I love each and every one of you!
The Lord showed me a picture today of a courtroom full of people, my point of view was from the back of the room. I could see the judge at the front, but not make out his face, and I could see the plaintiff’s table and defendant’s table. There was no jury present. The attorney for the plaintiff was emphatically trying to make his point, entering material for evidence and slamming it on the table. He was shaking his fist, spitting out his words vehemently, and pointing his finger all in an attempt to drive home his accusations. The crowd in the courtroom was not quiet either, their boisterous acknowledgment seemed to feed the plaintiff as he spouted off the defendant’s crimes. After what seemed a long time, he finally huffed and sat down. There was a hush in the room and the defendant’s attorney stood up and approached the bench.
Walking across the courtroom floor, He seemed to grow larger and brighter. His face shown and His garments changed to a white robe. I noticed the defendant’s clothes had changed as well, he also wore a white robe. While I could not make out the exact words of his accuser, I could hear his advocate speak loud and clear. He said “What the accuser has said may once have been fact, but is now no longer true. His price has been paid and these accusations are no longer valid.” At that point, I saw the gavel lift and come down and heard “Not guilty” shake all the way down into my spirit.
Revelation 10:12 ” Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.”
Papa wants to remind His children there is nothing Satan brings against us from which He cannot deliver. His mercy and love for us is so great, we simply need to trust in His hand. He is our strength and shield, our very present help in times of trouble. No matter what facts are presented to us, the Truth always sets us free.
Some of us are facing some very difficult to swallow things right now, but God is well able and poised to deliver. Trust that He is, right now, lifting His gavel to declare you NOT GUILTY!
If most of us really knew and understood the power of our words, we would be less likely to agree with much of the negative memes, posts, news articles, etc. Much of what we are dealing with is the result of words we’ve spoken and agreed with.
I will bless and not curse, I will call those things that are not as though they were and I will love unconditionally. In all this, I will cause a ripple effect and a change in the atmosphere around me and this will, in turn, affect local, regional, state and national arenas.
If you really want a change, speak it out. Be careful of using the words “always” and “never” unless it is in the context of blessing. I challenge you to begin to change the atmosphere around you by intentionally shutting down any negative words that do not build up, encourage, edify or speak life into any situation – and I am also referring to the political arena. The more negative you agree with, the more negative you will always see. Always. STOP giving the devil ground.
Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
Romans 12:14 “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.”
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded (James 4:8 NKJV).
We often say we have surrendered to God, but have we truly? Are there areas within our lives we are unable or perhaps unwilling to let go of? Maybe we are unaware of this inability to fully surrender. I was thinking about this the other day. What if some things we struggle with in our lives, or areas of incomplete healing are the result of our not surrendering it fully to Papa? I am talking on deeper levels than perhaps we are aware of. What if surrender in these areas means we have to let go of the things we draw attention from or sympathy for? What if we have built our lives and ways of doing things around these areas? Please do not misunderstand me – what I am not saying is healing or receiving the answers we’re longing for is contingent upon this.
Allow me to paint a picture, if you will. You’ve been praying for healing in a specific area for years, you have cried out to Papa, you have enlisted the help of others to pray with and for you, you have worshiped and yet you have not received healing. You’ve done all you know to do and you give it to God. Is there a part of you that still lives with the unhealed area? Do you plan your day around it subconsciously? Do you make allowance for it? Do you claim it when you speak to others? This is what I mean when I say it is not fully surrendered.
Surrender releases faith. It says, “Papa, I release this area to You. I know You have nothing but good for me and all will be well.” Genetics and bloodlines, along with family history can sometimes dictate, on subconscious levels, our responses to situations without us even being completely aware. Only the Holy Spirit is able to bypass this and reach the areas in need. Sometimes it is not enough to just believe God for answers, sometimes it takes active participation in surrendering it, often with the help of the Holy Spirit.
For those areas in which we are still waiting for answers or healing, let us ask the Holy Spirit to help us surrender them, and then release them in faith. Often, I have to picture myself holding things in my hands and then opening my hands in release; you may need to do the same. Then, we must be still and allow the Holy Spirit to work. There is no better time than the present to begin. 2016 has just begun, let this be the year of full surrender and divine attention.
Papa, thank You for these reminders of how much You love us and how You have the best in mind for us. We know we cannot always do what needs to be done without Your help, and so we thank You, Holy Spirit, for revealing to us the areas where we have not fully surrendered. We ask You to do what You have to do for it was already paid for at the cross and we are free. Only You truly know what is within us, unbury that which we have buried and heal the broken places it has caused. You are a good, good Father, and Your love and faithfulness endure forever. May we be still and allow You to work, resting in Your lap. We thank You for this time to go deeper and learn more fully what surrender to You actually looks like. We love you, Papa. Amen.
A little leaven leavens the whole lump (Galatians 5:9 NKJV).
I realize it has been a while since I last posted an update, however I trust you are continuing to speak life and love over the jars of dirt representing our nation. I’ve had the above verse on my heart since I woke up this morning.
I try not to watch too much news or read too many articles as the perpetrators of fear and law have been working overtime. The enemy of our soul knows he is defeated yet he desires to fight anyway. I have been thinking of how best to pray in light of the few reports I have come across and I want to share what Papa has spoken to me.
A little leaven leavens the whole lump. Pretty straightforward, right? It basically says a small amount is needed to affect something in its entirety. When looking at the current state of this nation, it would appear some leaven has indeed corrupted the whole. 2016 is an election year with candidates still vying for the top spot and no clear direction from many of them; things may appear bleak. I can assure you Papa knows exactly what is going on here, and He still desires us to bless and not curse.
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men (Matthew 5:13).
In baking, salt can prohibit the yeast from causing the bread to rise. Used in large amounts, it hinders growth. Since Jesus told us we are the salt of the earth, we have the power within us to hinder the effects of the leaven affecting our nation. It is time for us to rise up and be salty. Salt also created thirst and preserves. When we are truly being salt, those around us want what we have. For too long we have equated saltiness with condemnation, but the two are not compatible. To be salt the way Jesus called us, we must exercise radical love and grace. Each of us can start within our circles of influence.
As we begin 2016, let us not only make a point to continue to speak love and life over our nation, but to walk salty and sure. We have all we need to do this in Christ, we simply have to exercise it.
This year’s prayer points:
- Speak life and love to your jars.
- Season every conversation with salt, lavishing love on everyone you meet.
- Continue to pray for Papa’s governmental authorities on every level in our elections this year.
- Pray for strength and endurance for all of our national intercessors, those behind the scenes as well as those in front.
I am so blessed to be partnering with you on this journey and I know we will see Papa’s hand at work in His divine time. I love you!
Happy New Year
Papa is speaking to relationships, especially marriages and families. I hear Him say, “‘No’ is an anointed word. You have taken responsibility upon yourself I have not delegated to you. This has caused breakdowns in areas I have given you to build up. Because your attention has been diverted in doing things you were not called to do, what you have sown is now being reaped. You are weary and exhausted because you are moving in multiple directions and unable to focus and rest.
My love for you has not changed. It is now the season for you to rest, to pull back, to reassess and to say “no” to that which I have not assigned to you. Step back from all you are doing and listen for My leading in which to move foward in. Trust Me in that I have already met the needs for those areas you are trying to take care of. This process may be painful for you to do, you have walked too long in ill-fitting shoes meant for someone else, and they have warped your feet and hindered your walk. But I have a new pair of shoes especially made for you. It is My desire that you sit down and rest while I remove the shoes from your feet and heal the wounds they have caused.
Partner with Me as I show you the way and restore your relationships. I have a new path for you to walk and your new shoes have been made specifically for this trek. Always remember, I am not taking things from you, I am taking you somewhere.”
“The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along gright paths, bringing honor to His name” (Psalm 23: 1-3 NLT).
