Guitar play

My husband put his guitar away about two years or so ago. Life happened and he had a few things he needed to deal with and so his guitar quietly waited in a corner of our bedroom. He would often talk about playing, but something always seemed to come up.

Growing up with a musician for a father, I have always loved music. My father would play whenever he got the chance, and often as I could, I would sit with him and enjoy the show, singing along when I knew the words. When my husband decided to take up the guitar, I knew I would sit with him and sing along. I also knew we would be in ministry together and I longed for the day he would remove it from the case and begin to play.

A couple of months ago I finally decided to obey something Papa had been speaking to me about for a few years and open our home for worship. I scheduled a date and began inviting people. We had our first session on Thursday and it was amazing! The best part was that my husband took his guitar out of his case and played! He may have been a bit rusty and slow on some chord changes, but he gave his heart and Papa was pleased. We enjoyed the sweetness of His presence and a kiss of His glory.

This was just a small part of our practice before everyone arrived:

Shalom!

Confident

Today is named CONFIDENT because our surety in who we are in Christ begets confidence. Our Papa is faithful and trustworthy, enabling our confident hope in His intervention and reliance on His assistance. We can be confident that He will back up His Word, provide for our needs, love when we need it most and guide when redirection is in order.
“My heart is confident in You, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing Your praises!” Psalm 57:7 NLT

Fearless

Today is named FEARLESS because Papa’s love drives out all fear. We are able to accomplish all that we are called to do courageously and boldly. We can move onward and upward without fear.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV).

Complete

Today is named COMPLETE because in Christ we are complete. In Christ we have access to all of heaven and to the fullness of Papa. Being complete enables us to rest and to remain still in His presence.
“For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power” Colossians 2:9-10 NKJV

Intentional

Today is named INTENTIONAL because we should always be intentional in all we do. Be intentional in love, in kindness, in giving grace, in sharing – be intentional in all things.
“So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses” Galatians 5: 16-18 NLT

Still

Today is named STILL because sometimes our best course of action is to simply be still. Stillness does not always mean lack of movement, it can also mean contemplative or reflective. Papa loves when we contemplate His attributes and character. Today is a good day to be still.
“Be still, be calm, see, and understand I Am the true God. I Am honored among all the nations. I Am honored over all the earth” Psalm 46:10 VOICE

Accepted

Today is named ACCEPTED for I am accepted as I am! Therefore, we don’t need to do anything to earn Papa’s acceptance, nor do we need to impress Him. He created us uniquely and lovingly and He knows the number of hairs on our head.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved” (Ephesians 1:3-6 NKJV).

Worthy

Beautiful

Today is named BEAUTIFUL. We are exquisitely created, beauty in poetry, wrapped in skin. We are surrounded by beautiful things Papa has made and when in His Presence we see the beauty of His Holiness. Today holds beauty in everything- every person, every plant & landscape, situation. See today with the eyes of Heaven and observe all the Beautiful things.
“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end” Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT.

Faithful

Today is named FAITHFUL because the One who made it is forever faithful. Papa’s faithfulness towards us is empowering and encouraging. He is faithful, therefore we are given grace to be faithful. Let us be faithful in the small things so Papa will give us greater things.
“He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much” Luke 16:10a NKJV.

Heaven's Poetry Etched On Lives: God's Masterpiece

For we are the product of His hand, heaven’s poetry etched on lives, created in the Anointed, Jesus, to accomplish the good works God arranged long ago (Ephesians 2:10 VOICE).
