Today is named CALM THE STORM because we have the authority to do so. We abide and dwell in Christ and He has given us his authority, therefore every storm that rises up around us, every adverse circumstance, every chaotic moment threatening to knock us off course, we can stand and say “Peace, be still!” As we stand in faith, we can be sure the wind and wave obey.
“He got up, shouted words into the wind, and commanded the waves, “That’s enough! Be still!” and immediately the wind doed down to nothing, the waves stopped” (Mark 4:39 VOICE).
Matthew 28:19-20 VOICE
Making a disciple is not the same as “getting someone saved”. It is teaching them in the way Christ taught us, it is mentoring them, sharing life with them, and then freeing them to multiply the same way. It involves spending time with that person or group on a continuing basis, and growing together. You know, like raising children within a family. Jesus didn’t simply seek and save the lost, He left a heavenly blueprint on how to do it.
It behooves the Body to become more disciple-focused rather than salvation-focused. There are many willing and ready to learn and few who will stay and teach. Will you devote yourself to discipling someone? Raising spiritual children is just as rewarding as raising a child.
