praying for the nation

Pray in the Spirit: Morning Minute Message 5/8/19

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere (Ephesians 6:18 NLT).

Prayer is a vital part of the Believer’s life. It is our life support system, our battery charger, our necessary food. It is our GPS, our telephone, our battle strategy. There are those who would argue that Scripture is all we need, but Scripture without prayer is simply words on a page. Prayer is how we enter into understanding Scripture, and understanding what the Spirit reveals to us as to how and what to pray.

Praying in the Spirit is prayer that is directed, energized, and sustained by the Holy Spirit. Intercession, if you will. When we speak, sing, or be in the Spirit, it is all Holy Spirit led. The Bible is filled with intercessory prayers, Scripture based prayers, admonitions to pray at all times, unceasingly, and for all men.

Got a problem? Pray. Need direction? Pray. Facing backlash for your beliefs? Pray. No matter the situation, pray. Bring it all to the altar. Not only will you gain peace, you will gain perspective, and sometimes a changed perspective is all we need to see the answer to our prayers.

Pray especially for Believers. There are many who have been misguided, misinformed, who struggle to know Jesus outside the confines of what they’ve been taught, who only know condemnation. Pray for them. Bless them, ask Papa to show you how He sees them, and how He wants you to pray specifically. These are prayers He will gladly answer.

I love ya, have a great day!

Do Not Gloat

Proverbs 24: 17-18 “Do not celebrate when your enemies fall, and do not rejoice when they trip up; or else the Eternal will know and be upset with you, and He will release them from His anger (VOICE).”

This has been heavy on my heart lately, especially since the division in this country has become a somewhat “us” vs. “them” mentality. It doesn’t matter the source of our “Breaking News”, the reports are always so negative regarding the “other” side and it seems to be the reporter’s joy to point out how “so & so will pay”. Yet, it doesn’t seem like payback is swift in coming.

Could it be that the payback some so dearly hope for isn’t coming because many are gloating over the falling and tripping up of the “other side”? Who are we to think we are so far above the mishaps, mistakes and misfortunes of those we don’t agree with that we dare to gloat and rejoice in their failings? Does it not rain on the just and the unjust alike? Does the sun not shine on both as well?

Each one of us is not exempt, we are someone’s enemy whether we realize it or not. Yet, Jesus does not tell us to come against against our enemies, He tells us to love them (Matthew 5: 43-45). And this is not really a New Testament theme, Leviticus 19:18 also mentions something similar “Do not seek revenge or hold a grudge against any of your people. Instead, love your neighbor as you love yourself, for I am the Eternal One (VOICE).”

Freedom and liberty are not found in hating those who think differently, act like they think, and attack before thinking, nor will that kind of hate bring about changes of thought. Freedom and liberty happen in the lives of our enemies when love invades hate and we love them for who they are as people.

Our fight is not against people, it never was. Our fight is against the spiritual forces at work and we, now more than ever, need greater discernment and an even greater outpouring of LOVE. Ephesians 6: 12 “We’re not waging war against enemies of flesh and blood alone. No, this fight is against tyrants, against authorities, against supernatural powers and demon princes that slither in the darkness of this world, and against wicked spiritual armies that lurk about in heavenly places (VOICE).”

I encourage you to change the way you pray for the supposed “other side”. Please, no more hate and condemnation prayers, no more calling down the wrath of God upon them, no more hoping to see them fall. God delights in mercy over judgment (James 2:13). Instead pray:

1.) For the tender mercies of God to pierce their heart
2.) Pray for a greater capacity to love
3.) For them to have a greater capacity to receive love
4.) For the Holy Spirit to have freedom to do whatever is needed in their lives
5.) For you to be quick to listen and slow to speak
6.) For compassion and passion on all “sides”

Let us be a people who loves people the way Papa loves people.

Matthew 5: 43-45 “You have been taught to love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you this: love your enemies. Pray for those who torment you and persecute you— in so doing, you become children of your Father in heaven. He, after all, loves each of us—good and evil, kind and cruel. He causes the sun to rise and shine on evil and good alike. He causes the rain to water the fields of the righteous and the fields of the sinner (Voice).

Galatians 5:13-15 “Brothers and sisters, God has called you to freedom! Hear the call, and do not spoil this gift by using your liberty to engage in what your flesh desires; instead, use it to serve each other as Jesus taught through love. For the whole law comes down to this one instruction: “Love your neighbor as yourself,”so why all this vicious gnawing on each other? If you are not careful, you will find you’ve eaten each other alive (VOICE)!

James 2: 13 “For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment (NKJV).

1 John 4:7-8 “My loved ones, let us devote ourselves to loving one another. Love comes straight from God, and everyone who loves is born of God and truly knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love (VOICE).”

Praying for the Nation – Cut Out the Tongue

The Lord showed me a snake sniffing around with its tongue. I watched as a pair of scissors reached in and cut out the snake’s tongue, rendering it powerless. and useless.

Snakes generally use their tongues to search out prey.  There are many across the nation the enemy has sought out and grabbed hold of as prey, using their tongues to spread fire.

Prayer points:

  • Pray for the tongue of the enemy to be cut out, silencing him
  • Pray for every work already spoken by him and his followers null and void
  • Pray for an unleashing of the light of heaven into the areas the enemy has tried to claim as dark
  • Continue to speak blessing and not cursing over your state governments, to speak healing over our land, for unity and peace

Blessings!

Praying and Prophesying the Word of God

I shared the following on my personal Facebook page as well as a FB group I belong to. For those of you who gathered dirt into jars to speak love, life and blessings to, joining me on this fantastic prophetic journey, please continue to do so! Do not relent in speaking heaven into the earth. Heaven is joyfully relentless in its pursuit of us, we need to be just as relentlessly pursing the Kingdom’s manifestation here on earth.

Be light. Be love. Speak life. Speak love.

Praying and prophesying the Word of God.

The Word of God is living and active, it does what He sends it out to do and never, ever returns void. There is power in declaring personalized Scripture over people, nations, situations, etc. Our nation is in turmoil and now more than ever we need to declare the word of God.

The following are my Scripture prayers and prophetic declarations for our nation, let us join together and become one unified voice. Where the light is, darkness has no power. Let us shine our lights.

Psalm 91

They who dwell in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my nation’s and governmental leaders refuge and fortress;
our God, in Him we will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver us from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover us with His feathers,
And under His wings we shall take refuge;
His truth shall be our shield and buckler.

We shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at our side,
And ten thousand at our right hand;
But it shall not come near us.

Only with our eyes shall we look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

Because we have made the Lord, who is our refuge,
Even the Most High, our dwelling place,

No evil shall befall us,
Nor shall any plague come near our dwelling;

For He shall give His angels charge over us,
To keep us in all your ways.

In their hands, they shall bear us up,
Lest we dash your foot against a stone.
We shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent we shall trample underfoot.

“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

Colossians 1:9-14

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for our nation and governmental leaders, and to ask that they may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that they may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified them to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered them from the power of darkness and conveyed them into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom there is redemption through His blood, and the forgiveness of sins.

Ephesians 3:14-20
We bow our knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,  that He would grant this nation’s leaders, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith; that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—  to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that we may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Praying for the Nation – Jezebel Has Fallen

Jezebel has fallen, but we must soldier on, for a Deborah is rising!

This is certainly a momentous day in the history of our nation. For many, this is not the day they had envisioned, and for others it is. As difficult as it may be, let us not wallow in our losses or brag in our victory. This was a divisive, uphill, nasty battle with definite winners and losers. As Americans, I would like to think we can overcome and unite, but I realize this will take time.

Our new President-Elect is not who some expected and many will struggle to call him our leader. That is okay. Our nation must heal; compassion is a necessity now more than ever. We must rise above, as Americans, and continue to move forward. All is not lost and there is always hope.

rsz_sword_sparks_big_59As I prayed yesterday, I saw two swords crossing in battle and I understood the depth of this war. There are things going on in the spirit most people don’t understand and what we are seeing in the natural was begot in the spirit. From a prophetic perspective, Jezebel’s kingdom has fallen, but the war wages on. Her influence is broken, but her soldiers haven’t conceded yet. We must continue to pray and take back the ground we allowed the enemy to encroach upon. He has no power, but we gave him power. The sleeping giant has awakened, rising and fighting back.

As a Church, we must no longer be apathetic and complacent, we must be aware that the words we speak sow seeds harvested in upcoming generations. For too long words of condemnation, judgment and cursing have been spoken over this nation and people. We must begin to bless, and not curse. We must love and not hate. We must have compassion not selfish ambition. Long ago we said we were “One nation under God” and how we have allowed that phrase to become a clanging cymbal because we lost the love that went with it. We trusted in man and not God, and we forgot about the unique beauty of individualism and diversity. God is going to use our beautiful diversity in healing our nation and people, and He will raise up leaders from the next generation.

We must soldier on in steadfast prayer for our leaders, our people and our upcoming generations. We must speak life, love and blessing over our land and ask for the balm of Gilead to flow, heal and unite.

This is the beginning of a new era, have no fear. Do not be discouraged, do not be dismayed, the Lord is with you, do not be afraid.

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence (1 Timothy 2:1-2 NKJV)

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63)

Community Organizer

we_struggle

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12 NKJV)

I have had two seemingly different streams of thought running rampant in my head over the last few weeks; however, the more I meditate on them, the more they tie together.

The Lord has been sharing some impressions with me. I don’t have the full picture, but what I have seen is an office space filled with cubicle partitions. Each cubicle has a separate group of like people within. I heard the word “partition” and realized this is tied to one of the thoughts I’ve been meditating on.

When you hear the word “community” what do you think of? What does that word mean to you? Is it not enough to simply be a community? Why must there be defined demographic people communities within one community? Where is the unity and promotion of God’s love in that?

When I think of community I think of a group of people with common unity. This, to me, does not mean we agree on every single thing, but recognize and respect our differences, working together toward a common goal where we are and loving each other in our diversity. What bothers me are the subsets or “partitions” of communities within a community. We have black communities, white communities, hispanic communities, asian communities, evangelical communities, Catholic communities, muslim communities, immigrant communities, religious communities, rich communities, poor communities, school communities, etc. Never are these labeled subsets of community more prevalent than within our media and governmental speech. For many of us, we have become so used to the partitions we don’t even think about it. But I believe this to be an effective way to subtly keep us separated and reminded of who we are seen as rather than as simply a human community.

The other thought stream I’ve had is in reference to dry, desert and barren places. Where I live in the Northeast, we are experiencing a drought. According to our meteorologists, it has been many years since we have dealt with conditions such as these. Our lawn is the color of hay and about as soft as kindling to walk on. Matter of fact, it greatly resembles kindling right now. Much of our nation has been under a heat spell and the west coast is dealing with widespread fires. Basically, we need rain, we need it all over and very badly. We can say our nation, in the natural, is experiencing some dry, desert and barren conditions.

In the spirit, demons are restless in the dry places. Luke 11: 24 “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’Our fight is in the spirit realm, not the natural, but we see the effects in the natural realm. As I have prayed for this nation, and over the jars of dirt, the Lord has revealed a few things to me: we have an enemy who desires division to the extent of another civil war; corruption is rampant within our current elected government; our borders leak; our land has blood crying out for vengeance, to name a few. Our nation is in a desert place and the demons in the spirit realm are restless, looking for places to dwell.

In Matthew 4, we see Jesus being led into the desert to be tempted by the devil. He went fasting, but the bible only tells us He was hungry, not thirsty. Jesus, as the Word, used the Word to overcome temptation and resist the devil, but he had to go to the devil to do it. Desert places are designed for battle; when we enter the desert, we can expect to fight. When we are grounded in the Word of God and abiding in His presence, we will not be thirsty in our desert place, strengthening us. We may not “feel” saturated, but we must continue to have faith and not give up when the heat rises at midday and the cracks form in the dust at our feet. We must stand firm on what we know that we know that we know.

Our country is in political upheaval, division is rampant and Christian men and women are at each other’s throats with no love. This deeply saddens me. God is into community organizing, not community disorganizing. We have allowed the spirits of religion and politics too much freedom and I believe our battle has just begun. This is not the time to sit back, but to rise up in our authority as the Church, to take our seat next to Christ and to enter the desert as a bold conqueror of Christ. The devil seeks to steal, kill and destroy and to do that he will divide, segregate and discourage; but Jesus came to seek and save the lost, to set the captives free and comfort the broken hearted; He is our strength and the source of our courage.

The devil wants to label us with faulty names and separate us into cubicles with only those who are like us to promote his version of “unity”, which is complete and total agreement. In the vision I saw each group of people begin to shake and push agains the walls of the cubicle, breaking the walls down. I saw them begin to mingle with each other, to laugh and hug and talk. It was a beautiful sight.

Let us walk boldly into the desert and take back our human community, giving the desert demons NO MORE GROUND!

Look, a righteous king is coming!
And honest princes will rule under him.
Each one will be like a shelter from the wind
and a refuge from the storm,
like streams of water in the desert
and the shadow of a great rock in a parched land.

Then everyone who has eyes will be able to see the truth,
and everyone who has ears will be able to hear it. (Isaiah 32:1-3 NLT)

But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. (Genesis 50:20 NKJV)

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28)

Praying for the Nation – Presidential Prayer

My family and I arrived back home yesterday after a cross country drive to New Mexico. We celebrated a couple of major life events with my sisters’ and their families, finally having all siblings and spouses in one room. This has been a difficult feat as my sisters and spouses are a part of military life and have had many overseas deployments, making reunions everyone can attend scarce. It was a blessed time; we brought our three year old grandson who was able to see family he hadn’t met since an infant and play with his cousins.

Since I was enjoying our time together, I have not paid any attention to any political news reports. I really didn’t pay much attention to begin with anyway as I believe our media is skewed in its reporting, but I caught wind of rock throwing protestors rallying in a couple places now where one of our candidates is campaigning. My heart is heavy for what our candidates are dealing with in this season, and it is heavy for our nation. As we begin to draw closer to election day, I feel the Lord beginning to focus prayer more on our candidates.

We are still to bless and not curse. We are not to pray to move the hand of God our way, we are to agree with heaven to bless each candidate in ways that move them towards His purpose and an encounter Him as the Living God. We are to agree with heaven for the removal of the political and religious spirits we have allowed to run rampant, seeking forgiveness on behalf of our states for the things the Holy Spirit brings to mind. We must also remember to pray for the people of this nation. We have become divided on many fronts, caught up in protesting and standing against causes instead of walking in love at all times.

Intercessory prayer points:

  • Continue to speak life and love over your jar of dirt. Bless and do not curse the land, the people and the government of your state. Prophesy to your jar of dirt, releasing heaven.
  • Pray for our presidential candidates. Pray for encounters with Christ, for Holy Spirit boldness, for a revealing of any hidden plots and schemes from the enemy, for physical protection over them and their families, for perseverance, and for them to be blessed. Please put aside your personal feelings for the candidates, we are praying heaven’s will not ours.
  • Pray for our current president. Pray for safety, for Papa’s will to be revealed in his life, for decisions influenced by heaven and for the enemy and his plans to be thwarted. Pray also for the Office of President, speak life into it, prophesy heaven’s future plans into the office.
  • Pray for local governments and schools, speak life and love into their offices, pray for blessing and protection as well as for the influence of the Holy Spirit.

At all times, bless. Always.

Thank you for journeying with me. Love you all!

Shalom 🙂

Praying for the Nation – Update

Jar of Dirt Map as of 4/13/16

Currently covered states, still need the rest.

2016-04-13 10.29.10

The physical jars of dirt I have in my possession. Illinois is the one covered by the cross.

A while back my husband and I watched a Sid Roth episode in which he interviewed Robert Henderson.

I was intrigued as Robert Henderson was speaking about interceding in the court of heaven. This caught my ear because it was prior to this episode in which the Lord showed me a picture of a heavenly court and Papa as judge. So, I bought his book, Operating In the Courts of Heaven.

There is much to glean from it and I anticipate reading it many times simply to fully understand what he covers. He has a chapter called The Testimony of the Blood in which he describes how the Blood of Jesus answers every accusation Satan has by its very testimony. He also says that blood has a voice, citing the killing of Abel by Cain and Papa saying Abel’s blood cries out to Him. He states “The testimony of blood before God’s throne is very powerful.”

I mention all this because I had an interesting experience on a road trip Monday. My husband and I were driving down to an area south of Syracuse. On the way there, I began to see things I have never seen before. In the natural this particular area is filled with dead trees and swampy. Some of it is open swamp, and another has more dead trees. It is beautiful and serene. I always enjoy being a passenger when we go that route and Monday was no different. As I watched the scenery pass, I started to see it in a different time. I realized, later that day, that the Lord was showing me the history. I saw the land lush, green and filled with activity. There were native people hunting and living on the land. I saw people and family groups, hunting activities, animal kills and the work involved. It was quite detailed and at the same time slightly disconcerting as I realized this was time before settlers arrived. Driving back through Onondaga Nation territory, I began to hear what I could not see. I heard the sorrow of the people of the land; cries, laments and I specifically heard “This is our land, it is not theirs to take.” I heard the weeping of women and children, the shouts of men and the heartbeat of the land. I believe I heard the testimony of the blood.

We know our nation has a very bloody history. We’ve been praying for over a year, speaking love and life to our land over jars of dirt. I am coming to believe it is no coincidence Papa specifically indicated dirt from every state. There was blood shed in the dirt of every state of this nation and He is now directing us to take our intercession into His court on behalf of our country. I still don’t understand fully what this looks like, but I know it is not something to be done alone. Partner with others in your area who are called to intercede on behalf of our nation, pray together, speak life together, bless and do not curse. We are the ones who enforce the heavenly verdict here on earth.

We have transitioned to a higher level, let us go forward and remove ourselves from the battlefield and prepare ourselves for court. We will see change and we will receive answers. We don’t have time to wait.

Thank you for your steadfastness and faithfulness in prayer. I love you all!

Shalom!

Praying for the Nation: Soapbox Rant

I am convinced the devil loves politics, especially when “moral and righteous” Christians decry, accuse and defame each other over political candidates. This election season has one difference than past years; we have a candidate who is not a career politician and this has caused (gasp!) extreme moral and righteous judgment from Christians towards each other!

I am sick of this behavior, really. It is bad enough our pool of candidates act like spoiled children who refuse to share the sandbox and want to blame the other parties for the cat poo they stuck their hand in, but to have Christians verbally bashing, insulting and condemning each other online for their individual political views is absolutely ridiculous. Not only does this devalue our credibility with non-believers, but it defames the name of Christ. It is this behavior that gives the religious spirit free reign.

Let me remind you that one person cannot do for this country what only Jesus can do. It is not the President’s sole responsibility to set the morals for this nation, it is ours. If we really desire to see change in this nation, it will have to be fought in the courts of Heaven. Intercession is one of the keys, and I mean intercession in agreement with the Holy Spirit. We must be careful not to agree with spirits that seek to manipulate the hand of God, but to discern what is being spoken in the courtroom of Heaven.

Stop giving the devil ground. Speak life, love and hope over this nation; agree with Heaven for its destiny and push for Kingdom advancement.

Shalom

Praying For the Nation – Objectivity

As we continue on this intercessory journey, I wanted to remind us to stay objective. God’s ways are not our ways, nor are His thoughts like our thoughts. We can only see what is on the outside, but He knows the thoughts and intents of the heart, He also has a purpose and a plan for all things. We will speak blessing and we will not curse, nor will we allow other to curse around us. Shut those words down and do not come into agreement.

We are in an election year and with still so many candidates running for President this year, the mudslinging has become worse than years past. To be honest, I am worn out from all the finger pointing and nay-saying, I am fed up with hearing what people won’t do and I’m tired of political rhetoric driven by campaign funders. I tell this to Papa too, He still says to bless and pray in His candidate. I do what I’m told.

As I’ve been praying, I’ve been impressed to maintain objectivity in all the goings on across our nation. Papa is full of surprises and I have no doubt His plans will surprise us to the point where we simply have to trust in His purpose.  So I encourage you to do the same.

This is definitely going to be a wild ride, but Papa makes all things work for our good. He seats princes on the throne and removes kings from kingdoms, we must remember His hand is working behind the scenes. Our posture of prayer is to be in agreement with heaven, so we must keep our ears open to hear what He has been saying.

Be blessed and continue blessing! I love each and every one of you!
