Raise Up the Children

I’ve been thinking about a few things this past weekend. As parents, we have the responsibility to raise this next generation in such a way that they learn from the mistakes we made so they are not repeated. We must raise them to be free-thinking and future minded, not just “in the moment”. There is history within the bedrock of every family. Our children should be taught the history, as well as encouraged to change history. Technology is a wonderful avenue for knowledge, but we must be careful about the knowledge our children are exposed to. This is a culture of “gimme now”, “I am owed this”, and “if it doesn’t affect me, who cares?” Please don’t take this the wrong way, I’m no parenting expert and my children are grown, but as I reflect on how I raised my kids, I can see where I made mistakes. I write this as a general observation, not as an expert.
We have a generation of children who don’t fully understand what it means to wait for something, to work for something, to put others ahead of themselves. They don’t fully understand what true humility is, and how to handle conflict and adversity. It is our responsibility to teach this. We must be aware of how our children learn and we must be the model we desire them to emulate.
“Therefore I urge you to imitate me. For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church” (1 Corinthians 4: 16-17 NIV). The disciples lived and learned from Jesus, giving them an example to live by. Paul did not live with Christ, but He was taught by the Holy Spirit. Children are great imitators, and so we must teach our children by example.
To have children who are grateful, humble and selfless, we must be willing to exhibit those very same behaviors. If we want our children to be positive and compassionate, we must teach them by example. If we want our children to be people of prayer, we must pray with our children and pray for others in front of them. If we want them to be creative, we must give them room to play creatively. Most importantly, we must not label our children, nor allow others to label them.
As a grandparent, I now have the privilege to influence the lives of the next generation and not repeat past mistakes. God is raising up an army in the upcoming generations, we must pray them in, pray them strong and pray them up.

Choose Words Carefully: Morning Minute Message 8/31/18

Speak Life: Morning Minute Message 8/7/18

Do Not Gloat

Proverbs 24: 17-18 “Do not celebrate when your enemies fall, and do not rejoice when they trip up; or else the Eternal will know and be upset with you, and He will release them from His anger (VOICE).”
This has been heavy on my heart lately, especially since the division in this country has become a somewhat “us” vs. “them” mentality. It doesn’t matter the source of our “Breaking News”, the reports are always so negative regarding the “other” side and it seems to be the reporter’s joy to point out how “so & so will pay”. Yet, it doesn’t seem like payback is swift in coming.
Could it be that the payback some so dearly hope for isn’t coming because many are gloating over the falling and tripping up of the “other side”? Who are we to think we are so far above the mishaps, mistakes and misfortunes of those we don’t agree with that we dare to gloat and rejoice in their failings? Does it not rain on the just and the unjust alike? Does the sun not shine on both as well?
Each one of us is not exempt, we are someone’s enemy whether we realize it or not. Yet, Jesus does not tell us to come against against our enemies, He tells us to love them (Matthew 5: 43-45). And this is not really a New Testament theme, Leviticus 19:18 also mentions something similar “Do not seek revenge or hold a grudge against any of your people. Instead, love your neighbor as you love yourself, for I am the Eternal One (VOICE).”
Freedom and liberty are not found in hating those who think differently, act like they think, and attack before thinking, nor will that kind of hate bring about changes of thought. Freedom and liberty happen in the lives of our enemies when love invades hate and we love them for who they are as people.
Our fight is not against people, it never was. Our fight is against the spiritual forces at work and we, now more than ever, need greater discernment and an even greater outpouring of LOVE. Ephesians 6: 12 “We’re not waging war against enemies of flesh and blood alone. No, this fight is against tyrants, against authorities, against supernatural powers and demon princes that slither in the darkness of this world, and against wicked spiritual armies that lurk about in heavenly places (VOICE).”
I encourage you to change the way you pray for the supposed “other side”. Please, no more hate and condemnation prayers, no more calling down the wrath of God upon them, no more hoping to see them fall. God delights in mercy over judgment (James 2:13). Instead pray:
1.) For the tender mercies of God to pierce their heart
2.) Pray for a greater capacity to love
3.) For them to have a greater capacity to receive love
4.) For the Holy Spirit to have freedom to do whatever is needed in their lives
5.) For you to be quick to listen and slow to speak
6.) For compassion and passion on all “sides”
Let us be a people who loves people the way Papa loves people.
Matthew 5: 43-45 “You have been taught to love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you this: love your enemies. Pray for those who torment you and persecute you— in so doing, you become children of your Father in heaven. He, after all, loves each of us—good and evil, kind and cruel. He causes the sun to rise and shine on evil and good alike. He causes the rain to water the fields of the righteous and the fields of the sinner (Voice).
Galatians 5:13-15 “Brothers and sisters, God has called you to freedom! Hear the call, and do not spoil this gift by using your liberty to engage in what your flesh desires; instead, use it to serve each other as Jesus taught through love. For the whole law comes down to this one instruction: “Love your neighbor as yourself,”so why all this vicious gnawing on each other? If you are not careful, you will find you’ve eaten each other alive (VOICE)!
James 2: 13 “For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment (NKJV).
1 John 4:7-8 “My loved ones, let us devote ourselves to loving one another. Love comes straight from God, and everyone who loves is born of God and truly knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love (VOICE).”
Shalom ♥

Praying for the Nation – Salty

A little leaven leavens the whole lump (Galatians 5:9 NKJV).

I realize it has been a while since I last posted an update, however I trust you are continuing to speak life and love over the jars of dirt representing our nation. I’ve had the above verse on my heart since I woke up this morning.

I try not to watch too much news or read too many articles as the perpetrators of fear and law have been working overtime. The enemy of our soul knows he is defeated yet he desires to fight anyway. I have been thinking of how best to pray in light of the few reports I have come across and I want to share what Papa has spoken to me.

A little leaven leavens the whole lump. Pretty straightforward, right? It basically says a small amount is needed to affect something in its entirety. When looking at the current state of this nation, it would appear some leaven has indeed corrupted the whole. 2016 is an election year with candidates still vying for the top spot and no clear direction from many of them; things may appear bleak. I can assure you Papa knows exactly what is going on here, and He still desires us to bless and not curse.

You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men (Matthew 5:13).

In baking, salt can prohibit the yeast from causing the bread to rise. Used in large amounts, it hinders growth. Since Jesus told us we are the salt of the earth, we have the power within us to hinder the effects of the leaven affecting our nation. It is time for us to rise up and be salty. Salt also created thirst and preserves. When we are truly being salt, those around us want what we have. For too long we have equated saltiness with condemnation,  but the two are not compatible. To be salt the way Jesus called us, we must exercise radical love and grace. Each of us can start within our circles of influence.

As we begin 2016, let us not only make a point to continue to speak love and life over our nation, but to walk salty and sure. We have all we need to do this in Christ, we simply have to exercise it.

This year’s prayer points:

  • Speak life and love to your jars.
  • Season every conversation with salt, lavishing love on everyone you meet.
  • Continue to pray for Papa’s governmental authorities on every level in our elections this year.
  • Pray for strength and endurance for all of our national intercessors, those behind the scenes as well as those in front.

I am so blessed to be partnering with you on this journey and I know we will see Papa’s hand at work in His divine time. I love you!

Happy New Year

Praying for the Nation – Disrupting Agendas

speak-lifeI realize it has been quite a while since I last sent out prayer directives for our nation. We have been simply maintaining our trajectory, continuing on with where God previously directed us to pray. He has, by no means, lifted the mandate, although some of us may not feel as driven to press in as in the past. We are, however, to keep on keeping on! Over the years I have learned that intercession is often a matter of being persistent even if there does not seem to be forward movement. We must never lose heart, even if we feel we are getting nowhere. Always trust that God is on the move. 🙂

While I have not gotten any “smack me in the face” specific direction from the Holy Spirit outright, I have had the rumblings of one word in my spirit over the last month and that is “agenda”. Upon further reflection, this is where we are now to begin directing our intercession. We must press in for the hidden agenda of the enemy to be revealed and frustrated, and for the agenda of heaven to enter into the earthly realm. Our prayers must be filled with mercy and love, grace and truth; we must not pray from hearts of bitterness, but hearts of love. Life is in the language of heaven. When we speak heaven’s language, we speak life into all things. This is how we disable and disrupt the enemy’s agenda.

Our directives:

  • Continue to speak life and love to your jar of dirt; speak words of faith, of mercy; declare God’s faithfulness and His great joy! Play worship music, read Scripture, minister to the jar. Remember, this is a prophetic act and what we do in faith like this, we release into the spirit realm.
  • Intercede for a revelation of the enemy’s plans, for them to be turned and used for good, for God’s plans to prevail. Remember to enlist prayer help when you get pushback from any territorial spirits in your area. Do not engage on your own, always seek the Holy Spirit for guidance.
  • Never accept any negative words regarding your state, the political, educational, agricultural, governmental, family, etc arenas – always bless, do not curse. There is a positive for every negative, we must discern the positive and disengage the negative.

Thank you for continuing on with me. God is at work and things are happening!

Blessings, hugs and love,

Prudence 🙂

Praying for the Nation Week 12

I am sure I am not the only one facing resistance when it comes to praying for our state(s). These last few days have been oh, so tough and it’s been difficult to press through and pray the Father’s heart, but God is merciful, giving grace aplenty to tap into and draw from! We will do well to keep this at the forefront of our minds when resistance rears its ugly head!

Week 12 Directives:

Twelve is a significant biblical number; many resources point to it being the number of government, others indicate it represents perfection and authority. There were twelve tribes of Israel and Jesus had twelve apostles. We are going to focus on government. As you know, the presidential candidacy race is getting underway and we must begin to earnestly press in for God’s authority to lead this nation. We must not forget the other governmental races which run statewide alongside the presidential. One of Satan’s most used tactics is to divert focus to one area so he can sneak in the back door of another. We must be ever vigilant in our prayer to keep those doors closed and pay attention to the larger picture.

  • Remember to declare how much your jar is loved, speak life and love over it no matter what is happening in your state.
  • Declare God’s righteous and just government, for leaders of integrity to rise up, for Christians to redefine ministry to include political office on all levels, and for them to lead from a place of love using Jesus as their example.
  • Declare Scripture over your state, specifically ones that speak to God’s authority. As we speak Scripture over our states, we set in motion things in the spirit that will move into the natural. 1 Chronicles 29:11 VOICE  All that is great and powerful and glorious and victorious and majestic is Yours, O Eternal One. Indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth belongs to You. The kingdom belongs to You, O Eternal One, and You are the head of it all.

Blessings, Hugs and Love!
